Trip to York Weekend 2 nights 27th Nov **2 places left!!**
Due to popular demand we have organised another Christmas City Break in the wonderful City of York!
We are off to soak up the festive sights and sounds of the beautiful city of York.
Few places in Britain seem to exude Christmassy moments in the way the York does. Surrounded by history that stretches back to the first century AD, York’s narrow cobbled streets, medieval buildings and towering Minster naturally lend themselves to Christmas-card cosiness.
York's streets are lined with exclusive shops, quality high-street stores, great restaurants, café bars, pubs and attractions and the city celebrates Christmas in style with a range of seasonal events, markets and festivities.
During St Nicholas Fayre weekend (which is on whilst we are there)York comes alive with bustling stalls, carol singers and buskers, just at the right time to get you in the right spirits for Christmas.
The Fayre extends from York's central outdoor squares to the historic halls in the city, with the Made In Yorkshire craft market within the Guild Hall, a further craft market at St William's College and an unusual medieval market within the rooms of Barley Hall.
St Sampsons Square becomes the home of DeliciouslYorkshire food and drink sellers for the weekend of the Fayre. With a mix of 'ready to eat' and 'packaged for Christmas' produce from regional food producers, bellies and larders can be filled up plentifully!
We are staying in a lovely apartment just outside the city centre - Stakesby Holiday Flats.
We arrive on Friday night at around 6pm and a buffet at the apartment is included on the first night. We have an evening of fun and games organised for you around the hostelries of the city centre - a kind of pub treasure hunt!
After a hearty breakfast on Saturday morning we will walk into the city and walk the city walls. If weather is adverse we will visit the dungeons (last year we couldn't walk the walls due to bad ice!!). In the afternoon there is free time to shop at the Christmas markets (or do as some members did last year and sit in the pub!!).
On Saturday night after a ghost walk we will head to a lovely Chinese buffet restuarant where you can 'eat all you can'. The ghost walk is a different one from last year and we have included the cost of the ghost walk and meal in the overall price.
On Sunday after breakdfast we will visit the York Museum. If you are not a big fan of museums then don't dispair - this one is great!! You know you are getting old when you see items from your childhood in a museum!!
The price you pay includes 2 nights accommodation, 2 breakfasts, 2 evening meals and entry to the York Castle Museum, the Dungeons (if walk around walls is not possible)all this for just £130.
There will also be plenty of time for you to fit in some Christmas shopping!!

3 night break in Bailey near Newcastleton in superior accommodation and including all food and entertainment (horse riding extra).

This year we have sole hired 4 self contained apartments and all the rooms in the on site B & B giving us a total of 28 places. All apartments and B & B rooms are individually furnished and tastefully decorated to a high standard. All apartments include a colour TV, fridge, microwave and a conventional electric cooker. There is a communal laundry room, a games room with a pool table and darts board. After a day of outdoor activities you can return to relax in the on site Jacuzzi or sauna before enjoying a drink and meal in the cosy, fully licensed bar. Internet access is also available during your stay. Pets (under control) are welcome. Horses, stabling and trekking are all available on site.
This year sees the return of Zest's version of the X Factor - The Z Factor. Members will be asked to sing their favourite Elvis song in a seperate room and their performace will be video'd. Some Elvis props will be available to use to make your performance more unique (or feel free to bring your own!). On New Years Eve before the party the performances will be shown to everyone who will then vote for their favourite.
The holiday's entertainment will also include 'The Borders Games' - Zest's very own version of the Highland Games and a walk.
The venue is well placed for mountain biking and cycling. Horse riding treks can be arranged at an extra cost of £15.00 per hour leaving from the onsite stables.

Arrive after 4pm.
This evening we will be having a buffet in the onsite restaurant (more details of menu to follow)
The 'Z' Factor Audition room will be open all evening for recording of your Elvis impersonations!
Indoor games/competitons.
Thursday 31st December
Full cooked English Breakfast in the morning.
Short walk for all abilities during the day with packed lunch.
Hogroast in the evening and fancy dress party (no particular theme) in the onsite bar which will be open to locals and other guests staying on site.
Friday 1st December
Full cooked English Breakfast in the morning.
Outdoor Highland Games (bring your kilts!!) during the day and light lunch.
A horse riding trek can be arranged (additional cost of £15 per hour per person beginners welcome)
3 course roast dinner in the evening followed by judging of the 'Z' factor competition and disco.
Saturday 2nd December
Full cooked breakfast and depart when you are ready (no other entertainment/food provided by Zest on this day).
We have a total of 28 places available on this event. Places have been provisionally reserved for the following members who have already expressed an interest pending receipt of a deposit of £50 per person/£100 per family.

Art Class with Chris Knapman
Join us for a relaxing evening painting with Chris Knapman.
Chris will teach you how to paint and at the end of the night you can take your creation home with you.
All materials are included in the price of this event.
This class is for absolute beginners so no need to worry if you have never painted before!!
You can just book as a one off if you only want to attend one session!
Discounts:
If you provide your own materials a discount of £5.00 per lesson is available but your class must be paid for by cheque/bank transfer.
If you book a 6 week course you will receive a £6 discount off the total but your class must be paid for by cheque/bank transfer. If you give enough advance warning (ie you have a holiday booked) your booking can be carried over to another week.
